Before you press
Heat, time and pressure work together.
Successful DTF application depends on more than temperature alone. Your heat press must reach the correct temperature, close with firm and even pressure, and remain closed for the recommended time. Inconsistent pressure is one of the most common reasons a transfer may lift or fail to bond.
Every heat press and garment can behave differently. Cotton, polyester, blends, seams, moisture, coatings and fabric thickness may affect application. Always test a garment before beginning a larger production run.
Pre-press
Remove hidden moisture and wrinkles before placing the transfer.
Use even pressure
Avoid seams, collars and raised areas that prevent full contact.
Peel hot
RBA DTF transfers should be peeled immediately after pressing.
Repress
Cover the print and repress to finish the application.

No heat press required
How to apply UV DTF stickers.
Burnish
Use a squeegee on both sides before separating the layers.
Prepare
Clean the glass or plastic and remove hand oils. Avoid alcohol.
Remove backing
Carefully peel the design film from the backing layer.
Align once
Position carefully. The adhesive is strong and may not reposition.
Squeegee outward
Press from the centre toward the edges to reduce bubbles.
Peel slowly
Remove the clear carrier while checking that the design stays applied.
Heat-applied patches
How to press chenille patches.
- 01Place the patch in position.
- 02Cover with parchment paper.
- 03Press from the front for 15 seconds.
- 04Turn the garment inside out.
- 05Press the reverse side for another 15 seconds.
Mug-wrap application
Sublimation wrap heat-press settings.
Press using firm pressure for approximately 180 seconds, or 3 minutes, at 180°C / 355°F. Results vary by mug, coating and press. Always confirm the manufacturer's recommended settings first.

What temperature should I use for DTF transfers?
Use 320°F to 350°F, heavy pressure and approximately 7–10 seconds with a commercial heat press.
Are RBA DTF transfers hot peel?
Yes. Peel the carrier immediately after opening the heat press.
Why is my DTF transfer lifting?
Common causes include insufficient pressure, uneven heat, moisture, incorrect timing or pressing over seams.
Can I use a household iron?
A commercial heat press is strongly recommended because household irons do not provide consistent heat or pressure.
Do I need to repress?
Yes. Cover the image and repress for approximately 2 seconds using firm pressure.
Can DTF be pressed on polyester?
Yes, on many polyester garments, but dye migration and heat sensitivity vary. Always test first.
